Vilafranca del Penedés:

Cavas Giró Ribot:

Giró Ribot, a traditional and family owned estate, located in the heart of the Apellation of origin Penedes. For generations, this family of wine producers have played an important role in the production of quality cavas and wines. Giro Ribot has more than 100 hectares dedicated to vineyards for the production of their wines and cavas. This state has 2 different product ranges: the gastronomic under the Giro Ribot brand, and another one branded as Paul Cheneau, dedicated only for export. The estate is located in a beautiful setting, and it has a wine tasting room, and an area to organize private and corporate meals. They also have a wine shop where all their wines and cava are available.

Sant Sadurní d'Anoia:

J Miquel Jané

J Miquel Jané has much more to offer than a simple visit: a complete course about vine-growing, wine-making, and wine-tasting. The course is divided into 3 parts: an educational walk in the vineyard (1h), an oenology “class” during which the oenologist will explain the wine-making and ageing processes (30min) and a wine-tasting course (1.5h) including 4 of the winery´s wines which have received important prizes. You will also be given aperitif of regional specialities and an explanatory file to complete your course.

Sant Sadurní d'Anoia:

Cavas Conde de Valincourt:

Conde the Valincourt is a family run cellar that started making cava in 1940. This is one of the smallest cellars in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, but it is also one of the highest quality producers. They define their product as “pure Cava”: they do not add preservatives or any chemicals and the production process is totally handmade. Even the xxxx is still done by hand, a great show to witness. During the visit to this cellar you will be explained some of the secrets to obtain a high quality cava. Their production is very limited and not easy to purchase. The visit is a good opportunity to buy a few bottles straight from the producer.

Can Nadal de Boadella:

This is one of the most tradicional cellars in Sant Sadurni. Since it was founded in the XVI century it has been producing excellent cavas and white wines. It continued producing even during the Spanish civil war, when part of its vineyard was expropriated to build a military airport. Having an enormous vineyard surface enables this cellar to select only the best grapes to make its high quality cavas. During the visit you will be explained in detail the cava-making process, one of the most complex as far as wine is concerned. In Can Nadal, there is a cava lovers club which informs its members on the lastest news and events related to wine. You may become a member of the club after visiting the cellar.
